About Shihan Azadani

Shihan Azadani has been practicing Kyokushin Karate for over 30 years. Shihan Azadani has learned the true essence of Kyokushin Karate from Kaicho Hatsuo Royama, chairman of the Kyokushin-kan International Organization, and from Kancho Okazaki Hiroto who is the director of Kyokushin-kan International Organization.

Shihan joined Kyokushin-kan International Organization as the branch chief of the organization in 2004, just shortly after the Kyokushin-kan International Organization was established.

Shihan Azadani has trained hundreds of Karate students, and his students have achieved numerous World Championship titles and European and Asian Championships medals.

Shihan has participated as a Kumite and Kata competitor in numerous championships and has won titles and medals, including winning the Kata competition 1st position in the 2011 All North America Kyokushin-kan Championships and winning the 2019 All Japan Senior Kumite Championship.

He travels to Japan regularly to continue learning Karate from Japanese grandmasters. During the 2008 international Kyokushin-kan Instructors Seminar, he was tested and approved for his 4th-degree black belt in Japan by Kaich Hatsuo Royama. In 2015, Shihan was awarded his 5th Dan after passing the belt test in Japan.

In 2015, Kaicho Hatsuo Royama told him that he was under observation for the Renshi-Shihan title and that he should prepare for his Renshi-Shihan test to take in Japan.

Shihan Azadani attended the 2019 International Kyokushin-kan Seminar in Japan and was tested for his Renshi Shihan rank after approval from Kaicho Royama. Shihan Azadani formerly received his Renshi-Shihan title in 2019 during Kaicho’s seminar in Florida.

Shihan has also served as a certified referee in numerous Kyokushin World Championships, European, and Asian Championships, including the 2009 Kyokushin-kan World Championships in Budapest, the 2012 Kyokushin-kan Face Punch World Championships in Japan, and all previous KWU Kyokushin World Championships.

Shihan has consistently been ranked among the best referees in the world championships, and he has been appointed to judge the final rounds in the Kyokushin World Championships.

In 2023, Shihan Azadani opened his new Karate Dojo in Saint Augustine City, Florida, to continue teaching and training the next generation of Karate students.
